Hi
After installing beta3, no mail can be sent anymore. Installing .7.5 solves the issue.
Was working ok for beta2.
I did not change any parameter between b2 and b3.

Thanks for the report.

Are there any error messages in the Error Console?

h.ogi said...

Now beta4 is available.
Can you try this?

Hi
Thanks, it works better with Beta4, when "Do nothing" is chosen: the mail is sent.

But I don't know exactly what the 2 other options are supposed to do: if I select one of them, the mail won't simply not be sent, in any circumstances!

Thanks again.
It seems that it fails to parse addresses. I have some questions. Can you ask them?

1. Does your recipient's name contain special characters such as accentuated characters, comma, and so on?

2. Do you use a list for recipient? And which recipient will cause error: an email address or a list or both?

3. Do you install any other extensions, especially ones that add functionalities to message composition?

Then, about the 2 other question: I'm testing with a direct email address that does not contain any accentuated character. Not a list. But my address book does contain such accentuated email addresses or lists.
And here is the error I get in the console:
Erreur : Component returned failure code: 0x80004002 (NS_NOINTERFACE) [nsISupports.QueryInterface]
Fichier source : chrome://chksend/content/chksend.js
Ligne : 646

Wow, 69 extensions!
Thanks for writing so many extensions.

I've updated b4. Please note that version number is not changed.
It will fix the error you saw in the error console.

BTW, is your TB slowed down due to such many extensions?

Hi
Thank you for writing such extensions;) and for correcting them when needed!
So, these new version does not generate any error anymore, and the messages get sent.
But I'm still confused about the 2 first options:
- when checking the first option (misspelled name), any unknown address is replaced by "undefined", but the mail is still sent
- when checking the second option (remove all names), nothing special happens, and the mail is sent. But I'm wondering what should really happen, it's not clear in my mind.

Thanks

PS: despite these 69 extensions, my Thunderbird stays perfectly usable... or I'm used to it;) And I have gigabytes of mail files at work.

I've updated again.
I hope it will fix the new problems.

I didn't know TB is durable for many extensions and gigas of mails. Thanks for the information.

You're welcome (TB is fine on my 2 laptops with WindowsXP).
Back to the extension: I understand better now, it seems to work as intended: the name (not the email address) is either corrected or removed ok.
One last thing though: In the first option, if I enter a wrong EMAIL address, the recipient is still REMOVED and replaced by "Undefined", which is not good as the email address is not mandatorily in the address book.

Thanks again.
I've uploaded new one.
Can you try it?

Hi again
Sorry for the delay, but I was on holiday last week.
So, I have checked beta 5, and it seems to work ok, except the fact that, with the first option (check if recipient name is the same as in address book), the valid entries (those that already match the address book) are also displayed in the intermediate popup.
And another question : in the second option (remove name), could it be possible to add an option to do it automatically without displaying the intermediate popup ?
Thanks
Olivier

Thanks for the reply.

I've changed the functionality and show all recipients regardless they will be replaced or not. Do you prefer the previous spec?

> And another question
I'll add it to the next beta.

Hi
As there is no way to change any date in the confirmation pop-up except the check box, I don't think that already OK entries are needed there. The wrong ones would be lost in the middle, wouldn't they ?
Thanks
Olivier
