There is a problem with your addon. They disable updates and and disable/enable/uninstall buttons. The problem goes away when I disable your addon in safe mode and restart Thunderbird. I am using the lastest of Thunderbird version on Windows.

I tested it on Thunderbird 2.0.0.21 and it worked. Please tell me other installed extensions.

I have the following addons installed:

AdBlock Plus 1.0.1
Engimail 0.95.7
Flashgot 1.1.8.5
-Gmail IMAP Account Setup q.6.21
-Google Contacts 0.5.51
KLAntiSpam 8.0 (Kaspersky)
Lightening 0.9
Provider for Google Calender 0.5.1
Talk Back 2.0.0.9
US En Dictionary 3.0.3

Currently those marked with - are disabled, but when I turn on Google Contacts, the next time I start Thunderbird the buttons become disabled. I am using the same version of TB that you are using.

btw, thanks for your great addons.

PS: it is a little annoying to log in to comment as a anonymous. I hope that you will turn this off soon.

I tested it with the extensions except for KLAntiSpam. I still cannot reproduce the problem. Are there any error messages in the Error Console? And does it also happen when you install it to a new profile?

Plus, please let me know if you use themes.

Hi, I've just installed Google Contacts on Thunderbird 2.0.0.21. It seems to have only partially worked for me. For example:

1) My Gmail "My Contacts" has 83 contacts, but somehow I have 103 in the top-level address book.

2) Individual groups are missing some entries compared to the Gmail group.

3) Instead of displaying First and Last name, each contact is displayed with the first part of their email address. The Display Name is set correctly but is not parsed into First and Last names. I'm guessing this is because Gmail doesn't have First and Last Name fields.

Overall I like the automated import and the fact that it offers 2-way sync. Thanks for your efforts!

Hi,

For 1:
It retrieves contacts not only ones in My Contacts group but also ones in all other groups. Moreover, mail lists, which are counterparts of Gmail groups, are also represented as cards in a Thunderbird address book. For the reasons, the number of cards do not match with the one in Gmail.

For 2:
Thunderbird mail lists do not allow card without email address. So, if there are such contacts, they are not included mail lists.

For 3:
As you guessed, some fields are not synchronized because there are some fields that do not exist in both Gmail and Thunderbird. Please refer to the link for the bounded fileds.

Hi, sorry for replying late. I just see your comment. I turned it on (it was off since my last comment). The problem is resolved, but I don't know how. By the way, tank you for enabling anonymous comment again.
