I've started Issue Tracking System to maintain bug reports and feature requests. I'll file bugs reported here and by emails to the system. It is OK to post bugs by yourself without reporting me using blog comments or emails. Of course, you can also report by the existing ways.

I noticed that with version 0.7 of Google Contacts my contacts were failing to properly update on Thunderbird for OSX. After some experimentation, I uninstalled the plugin and installed an older version 0.6.41 -- which does work. It would seem that additional testing on OSX is needed.
I've been using Google Contacts 0.7 for years but starting today it won't sync with google. Messages on startup read sync complete. Was a bad update released? I'm using Thunderbird 17.0.3 on Windows 8
Update, I re-installed Google Contacts 0.6.41 and sync works again. Problem with 0.7
I end up with tons of duplicates in my Thunderbird address book even though the gmail contacts don't have those duplicates. Is this a known problem.
I also ended up with duplicates. 24,000 of the first contact in my address book.
They did not replicate to Gmail or Android, but they DID when I moved to Evolution which is very odd.
Deleting the contact from Gmail and all the duplicates did not fix as they came back even though the original did not exist any more.
I'm using TB 24.1.1 and it appears that Google is not getting updated from TB. The status bar in TB says that Google contact was updated, but when I go over to Google (and wait several minutes, keep refreshing) the update doesn't happen. When I reload in TB, the update just disappears. Is this a problem with the new version of TB?
I love the plugin and would really like to get it working. Thanks.
More testing reveals that it's the Google job title and company fields that aren't getting updated from TB. Phone fields seem to update OK.
Even more weird when Google tries to fill the job and company fields from its G+ info -- doesn't get replicated to or from TB. The workaround is to overwrite it with something else, reload, then change it back in TB. Very peculiar.
My google contacts address book just disappeared from Thunderbird. I tried to uninstall and re-install but no luck. It does not re-create the address book. Any ideas. Can i flush the old settings. Am using the current release and 34.3.0
i have been using latest version and my gmail account address book just disappeared. I removed and re-installed and it did not re-create. Any one can help. Using Thunderbird 24.3.0

re: Check and Send 0.9.27
hi, works great, BUT:
strings in the message body don't get checked if they're part of (or below) the signature initiated with --
Thunderbird 24.6.0
Google Contacts 0.7.12
When Drag & Drop a contact from another address book with one of the "Work" fields "Title", "Department" or "Organization" with some value, this contact is not added at Google account.
If a contact already in Google account is edited by adding some value to one of these fields, these values are not added to Google account.

I'm using version 0.7.12 on TB 31. I was expecting my Gmail contacts to sync my Personal Address Book, instead it completely erased a secondary address book and replaced it with my Gmail contacts list. Also, are there plans to sync Gmail with Personal Contacts? Thanks.
I'm using v. 0.7.12 on TB v. 31.0
I've changed the contact's main email address for one of my contact groups on Gmail, but that change doesn't reflect in the TB Address Book group after restarting TB, or even after removing and re-installing the CS add-on: the TB group is still showing the old address.
Version 0.7.12 was working fine until a couple of days ago - now does not recognise my valid passwords for Google accounts. Is there a fix?
Thanks!!!
Same problem here. I deleted my sync account and put it back again. No chance : AUTH 404: not found.
Please help
Same problem since today. Logon to my google account account is not working.
Please help
Same problem with TB 31.7.0 and Google Contacts 0.7.12. Tried uninstalling, rebooting, reinstalling. Continually asks for Google Contacts password for this account. Any help would be appreciated...
Ken
Same here, Tried a lot like mentioned above. Is there anythingyou can do fix this?
Thank you!
I am getting the same problem with the google contacts password being asked for. It would be great for some feed back. or perhaps we should find another plug in????????????????
I am also getting the same problem. Google password for contacts is being asked repeatedly. Any fix for this problem?
There is another addon called gContactSync. Anyone tried that?
Another instance of the failing login here since approximately the end of May. Thunderbird 31.6.0 on Slackware Linux, Google Contacts 0.7.12.
Project clearly abadoned from years. Author does not reply. Issue tracking system broken (error 500). gContactSync IS NOT a valid replacement because it does NOT work with multiple GMail accounts and author wont fix.
Google Contacts does not work anymore (and never will) because Google API now have mandatory requirements as OAuth 3.0.
How about fork this extension? I've the idea to fork it and hope in the contribution of community on github.
We're using TB version 60.2.1 with tag toolbar version 0.9.10b2.
The tag toolbar doesn't display correctly when writing a new message (or replying to a message). As soon as I input another value than 1 in the options at "Maximum number of toolbars), the displaying of the tag toolbar breaks, whenever I start a new message. It's quite bad especially when you use the value 0 in the options...
We tried version 0.9.10b3 too, there's the same error. Would be really great, if you'd be able to fix that.
Thanks for your great work!
Thank you for the report.
I'll fix it but it may take some time.
Tag Toolbar 0.9.10b3 will fix the problem.
Please try it.
